The Cowlitz County Event Center has served as a cornerstone for community gatherings and agricultural traditions in Longview for decades, evolving from traditional fairgrounds into a versatile year-round regional hub. The current modern facility is the result of a significant redevelopment effort that began in the early 2000s to modernize the existing fairgrounds.

The PFD is aiming to build a new Multi-Purpose/Indoor Sports Facility of approximately 40,000-60,000 sq. ft. This facility would be designed for use by small to large groups, climate-controlled rooms for year-round use, and space for a variety of events, as well as accommodate support spaces.

The Columbia Theatre Association for the Performing Arts is a historic centerpiece of downtown Longview that has been a hub for culture and entertainment since it first opened its doors in 1925. Originally designed as a vaudeville house and movie palace, it remains one of the most beautifully preserved examples of early 20th-century architecture in the region.

The new Entryway at the Cowlitz County Event Center is complete, marking the first step in the Public Facilities District’s long-term Master Plan.
